📖 How to Play Tic-Tac-Toe
X always goes first. Tap any empty cell to place your mark, then your opponent replies.
Win with three in a row — horizontal, vertical, or either diagonal. Eight winning lines total.
All 9 cells filled with no winner is a draw. Scores track X wins, O wins, and draws.
Play Tic-Tac-Toe
Take turns placing Xs and Os, and be the first to make a line of three. Play against a friend on one device or choose a computer opponent, with three difficulty levels. The scoreboard tracks wins and draws, and you can undo a move or start a rematch at any time.
Pick Player vs Player for couch rivalries on one device, or Player vs Computer to practice openings against silicon. Every round ends with a winning-line celebration or a draw call, and Play Again deals a fresh board in one tap.

Can I play tic-tac-toe against the computer?
Yes. Choose Player vs Computer and pick Easy, Medium, or Hard. You play X and the computer (O) replies automatically — Hard is unbeatable with perfect play.
How do you win at tic-tac-toe?
Get three of your marks in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal row. There are 8 winning lines. Take the center when you can, use corners, and always block two-in-a-rows.
What happens in a draw?
If all 9 cells fill with no three-in-a-row, the game is a draw. The scoreboard counts draws, and the result popup offers an instant rematch.
How does the scoreboard work?
It tracks X wins, O wins, and draws across rounds — for example X — 5 | O — 3 | Draws — 2. Scores persist in your browser until you press Reset Score.
Can I undo a move?
Yes. Undo takes back the last move — against the computer it takes back two plies so it stays your turn.
What is the difference between New Game and Restart?
Restart clears the board and starts a fresh round with the same mode. New Game returns to the start screen so you can change mode or difficulty.
Who moves first?
X always moves first, matching classic rules. In Player vs Computer you are X, so you open every game.
