📖 How to Play Checkers
Objective: capture or block every enemy piece. Black moves first, then players alternate turns moving one piece — or one full jump sequence — per turn.
Men slide one square diagonally forward on dark squares only. Kings move diagonally both ways.
Jump over an adjacent enemy into the empty square beyond. The jumped piece is removed — captures are mandatory.
Reach the far back row to be crowned. Kings fly both directions and dominate the endgame.
Mandatory captures: if any jump exists you must take one — glowing pieces show your options.
Multiple jumps: keep jumping with the same piece while jumps remain. Landing in the king row crowns the piece and ends the turn.
Winning: take all enemy pieces or leave the opponent with no legal move. Draws come by agreement or 80 moves without a capture.

How do I play checkers online here?
Pick Player vs Player or Player vs Computer and press Start Game. Black moves first. Tap one of your pieces to see its moves (dots), then tap a highlighted square. Captures are mandatory — jumping pieces glow gold.
Can I play checkers against the computer?
Yes. Choose Player vs Computer and pick Easy, Medium, or Hard. You play Red and the computer (Black) replies automatically, with deeper thinking on harder levels.
How do pieces move in checkers?
Single men slide one square diagonally forward onto dark squares. Kings — crowned pieces — slide one square diagonally in any direction, forward or backward.
How does capturing work?
Jump over an adjacent enemy piece into the empty square directly beyond it. The jumped piece is removed. Captures are mandatory: if any jump exists, you must take one.
What are multiple jumps?
After a jump, if the same piece can jump again, you must keep going in the same turn. The game keeps your piece selected and shows only its remaining jumps until the sequence ends.
How does a piece become a king?
A man that lands on the far back row is crowned automatically and your turn ends. Kings move diagonally both ways and are marked with a gold crown.
What if several captures are available?
You may choose any of your glowing pieces and any of its jumps. Once you start jumping with a piece, you must finish every jump available to that piece.
How do I win at checkers?
Capture or block every enemy piece. You win when the opponent has no pieces left or no legal move on their turn. Games can also end in agreed draws or by the 80-move no-capture rule.
Can I undo a move or flip the board?
Yes. Undo steps back a full turn (two plies vs the computer so it stays your move), Redo steps forward, and Flip Board rotates the view without changing the rules.
