Privacy policy

Short version: no account needed to play. Game progress stays in your browser. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and Google AdSense to show ads — both may set cookies. Details and opt-outs below.

1. Who we are

Countries of the World Quiz ("we", "us") is a free browser-games site. Contact: [email protected] via our Contact Us page.

2. Information we do not collect

We do not ask for your name, email, or any personal details to play. There is no registration, no login, and no user profile. We never sell your personal information directly.

3. Data stored in your browser

Game progress — such as streaks, scores, XP, settings, and best results — is saved only in your own browser's local storage on your device. It never leaves your device, and you can delete it anytime by clearing your browser's site data or using the reset options inside the games.

4. Cookies

We use three kinds of storage:
· Strictly functional (local storage): theme choice, sound preference, game progress. No consent needed.
· Analytics cookies (e.g. _ga, _gid from Google Analytics 4): count visits and measure aggregate usage.
· Advertising cookies (e.g. _gads, _gac_*, IDE, DSID from Google AdSense / DoubleClick): serve and measure ads, limit frequency, and — where you consent — personalize ads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the games still work, but some preferences may reset.

5. Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID: G-M72BS87YX0) to measure aggregate usage (pages visited, device type, approximate region). Google may set cookies (such as _ga) and receive standard technical data including your IP address and device identifiers, per Google's Privacy Policy. Data is kept by Google per its retention settings and may be processed in the US or other countries. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or any tracker blocker.

6. Google AdSense advertising

We show ads via Google AdSense (publisher ID: ca-pub-9993527107812153). Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.

Consent (EEA/UK): where required by law, Google will ask for your consent before setting advertising cookies or showing personalized ads. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will be non-personalized (contextual only).

California (CCPA/CPRA): ad personalization by Google may count as a "sale" or "sharing" of identifiers/online activity. You can opt out via Google Ads Settings above, your browser's Global Privacy Control signal (which we respect where technically feasible), or by emailing us and we will direct you to the right control.

7. Other third-party services

· Fonts load from Google Fonts and some map geometry from public CDNs (e.g. jsDelivr) — those providers may receive standard technical network data (like IP addresses) per their own policies.
· If you contact us by email, we receive only what you choose to send, and use it solely to reply.

8. Children's privacy

Our games are family-friendly and usable by children with parental guidance. This site is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13. We collect no account data from anyone. Google may serve non-personalized ads to users it believes are underage or in regions with child-protection rules. Parents can supervise play, use ad/personalization controls above, and clear browser data at any time.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. EU/UK GDPR, California CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the personal data held about you, and to object to or opt out of certain processing. Since we keep no accounts or server-side profiles, most requests concern Google-held analytics/ad data — use the Google links above for the fastest result. 10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new revision date. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
